Qualifications

• SDL/SDA Certification for leadership in special ed.
• Minimum five years teaching and/or administrative experience in education.
• Demonstrated expertise in special education with state and federal knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Assistant Superintendent for Student Personnel Services and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
• Coordinate with Director of Student Services and Data Quality Compliance on compliance with special education laws.
• Lead and oversee district special education programs and budgets, staffing and resources to meet short- and long-term goals.
• Implement and assess special education programs to ensure high-quality instruction in the least restrictive environment.
• Utilize data analysis to assess program effectiveness, inform decisions, and adjust services as needed.
• Oversee IEP development and implementation, aligning with district policies and legal mandates.
• Provide leadership and supervision for all district special education programs.
• Coordinate staff training for special education personnel and supervise staff performance with building principals.
• Plan, organize, supervise and jointly evaluate district special education staff and collaborate with administrators.
