Job summary

Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship seeks a Director of Special Education to lead and advocate for inclusive and equitable education for students with special needs.

The Director is responsible for program development and oversight; compliance with federal, state, and local laws; team leadership and collaboration; student evaluation and assessment; developing ongoing professional development for staff; community engagement; and leading data analysis and reporting efforts.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Special Education required.
• PA Principal or Supervisor of Special Education Certification required.
• Minimum of five years in special education with at least three years in leadership.
• Expertise using educational technology to support accountability and learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and advocate for inclusive and equitable education for students with special needs.
• Develop, implement, and oversee special education programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Provide team leadership and collaboration across staff and stakeholders.
• Oversee student evaluation, assessment, and progress reporting.

The Special Education Director is responsible for program development and oversight; compliance in ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to special education; team leadership and collaboration; student evaluation and assessment; developing an ongoing professional development program for staff; community engagement; and leading data analysis and reporting efforts.

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Special Education required
• PA Principal or Supervisor of Special Education Certification Required
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in the field of special education, with a minimum of three (3) years of educational leadership experience
• Expertise in the use of educational technology systems to support teacher accountability and facilitate student learning
