Job summary

Flosum, a leader in enterprise software, is hiring a Director of Software Development to lead a team of 10 engineers working on Node.js services and Salesforce integrations. This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering scalable, high-quality software on a tight cadence.

You will drive DORA metrics, champion architecture, and partner with Product, QA, and Infrastructure to meet roadmap goals, improve velocity, and maintain healthy team dynamics while scaling the platform in AWS.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years leading development teams of 8–20 engineers.
• Hands-on leadership with Node.js and Salesforce-integrated products.
• Experience architecting distributed systems and performance-critical solutions.
• Proven track record of schedule compression and meeting release dates without sacrificing quality.
• Strong collaboration with Product, QA, and Infrastructure; data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of 10 full-stack developers across Node.js services and Salesforce customizations.
• Drive developer velocity using DORA metrics: lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR.
• Break epics into smaller, independently shippable slices and challenge inflated estimates with data.
• Architect end-to-end solutions spanning Node.js microservices, APIs, event-driven patterns, and Salesforce integrations.
• Own solution performance: latency, throughput, scalability, and cost; set SLOs and accountability.
• Establish estimation, sprint, and release discipline; remove blockers; avoid burnout.
• Partner with Product, QA, and Infrastructure to align roadmap, capacity, and dependencies.
• Recruit, onboard, and performance-manage engineers; build a culture of ownership and speed.
