Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Director of Software Engineering within Commercial Banking IT for the Client 360 initiative.

You will lead data platform development and marketing/data solutions across the Corporate and Investment Bank, applying expert software engineering practices to deliver complex work on time and within budget. This role requires deep knowledge of Python, Java, AWS, Spark, and data quality, plus proven leadership of cross-functional teams and product ownership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Python development.
• 2+ years of Java development.
• 2+ years in big data technologies (AWS, Spark, Kafka, Data Bricks).
• Experience implementing complex ETL transformations on a big data platform.
• Strong UNIX shell scripting to automate file prep and loads.
• Data quality testing; able to write test cases and scripts.
• Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, or similar relational databases.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience leading cross-functional technologists and teams.
• Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Experience leading a product as a product owner or product manager.

Responsibilities

• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends in complex data sets.
• Transform existing ETL logic on AWS Platform or Data Bricks.
• Innovate new ways of managing, transforming and validating data.
• Implement new or enhance services/scripts.
• Establish guidelines to ensure data asset quality and completeness.
• Apply QA best practices to all work products.
• Design and code business solutions and core architectural changes using Agile methods.
• Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders in an Agile environment.
• Learn cutting-edge technologies for greenfield projects.
