Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in South San Francisco, CA seeks a Director of Commercial Sourcing and Procurement to lead North America vendor strategy across SG&A, IT, and professional services. You will drive contract execution and governance with senior stakeholders.

This role requires 12+ years in sourcing, strong negotiation, and experience with Coupa/Agiloft. You will shape savings, budgeting, and AI-based procurement initiatives while guiding global teams and ensuring governance and risk controls.

Qualifications

• Leadership managing large vendor spend portfolios; experience with global collaborations.
• Demonstrated success executing SG&A category strategies in complex environments.
• 12+ years sourcing experience (advertising agency, media, data analytics, meeting/events).
• Negotiation and benchmarking experience across IT contract types (SaaS, consulting, managed services); consulting/legal sourcing is a plus.
• Knowledge of S2P (Coupa), CLM (Agiloft), and AI sourcing tools.
• Familiarity with sourcing savings reporting (e.g., Smartsheet).
• BS/BA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop immediate and long-term SG&A sourcing strategies for Commercial, IT, and professional services.
• Partner with business stakeholders/Sr. executives to identify sourcing needs; align strategies with business goals.
• Assess, benchmark, negotiate, and perform gap analysis on key SG&A vendor contracts.
• Partner with Finance FP&A on vendor budgeting, forecasting, and savings validation.
• Track industry trends and apply procurement automation/AI.
• Establish SG&A vendor governance: optimization, risk assessment, and operational performance evaluation.
