Job summary

The Meadowbrook School in Weston, Massachusetts, invites a Director of Dining Services to lead all dining operations for a private day school serving ~300 students (JK–8). You will ensure outstanding service, food quality, and client satisfaction while managing financial performance and developing a high-performing team.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader with a passion for food service excellence, team development, and creating a welcoming dining experience for students,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Business or related field.
• 3–5 years of dynamic food service management experience, preferably in school dining, contract services, or high-volume hospitality.
• Experience leading budgets, financial reporting, and cost controls.
• Background in catering, special events, and high-volume food production.
• Ability to lead and develop teams, meet deadlines, and drive initiatives.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for all dining operations including student dining, catering, and special events.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, administrators, students, and guests for exceptional service.
• Collaborate with Executive Chef to design seasonal menus and programs.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, sales reporting, and period-end closing.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols; promote safety culture.
• Lead daily pre-service meetings for team alignment and updates.
• Oversee recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
• Drive participation through marketing, menu innovation, and catering showcases.
• Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation across dining areas.
