Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing seeks a Director of Scholarships to oversee the distribution of scholarships and funding for SON students, ensuring compliance with donor intent and university policies. This role collaborates with Development and Administration offices and chairs and panels, and prepares annual funding plans and reports.

Strong leadership and project management skills are essential, with experience in data reporting and using tools such as Access, Excel,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration or other degree relevant and five (5) years of relevant experience in the academic setting, chiefly in areas of project management and collaborative leadership.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively with those engaged in the Scholarship funding process.
• Self-motivated with problem solving, interpersonal communication, and excellence in written and verbal communications.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Subscribes to the mission and vision of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing.
• Serves as the point of contact for all SON student funding matters.
• Participates with Scholarships/and Other Funding Advisory Committee and related panels.
• Confers with Development to ensure scholarships align with donor intent.
• Develops processes to determine funding priorities and oversees distributions.
• Ensures compliance with criteria for awarding scholarships and funding.
• Creates yearly timelines and plan for activity completion.
• Oversees scheduling of committee meetings in line with timelines.
• Develops guidelines for processing scholarships and funding distributions.
• Collaborates with Student Success to engage and inform students about funding applications.
• Prepares annual reports on scholarships and funding distributions.
• Implements evaluation plans for funding processes and outcomes.
• Performs other duties to support the School of Nursing.
