Director of Sales - Food & Beverage
Location: Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA
As the Director of Sales - Food & Beverage, you will lead a dynamic team of sales professionals focused on driving growth across retail, food service, and distribution channels. You will develop and execute strategic sales initiatives tailored to the unique demands of the F&B industry, ensuring alignment with evolving consumer trends, regulatory requirements, and supply chain dynamics. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with deep industry knowledge and a passion for building lasting client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement F&B-specific sales strategies: Design and execute sales plans that align with company objectives and address the unique dynamics of the food and beverage sector.
Lead and develop a high-performing sales team: Recruit, coach, and inspire a team with expertise in F&B sales, ensuring consistent achievement of revenue targets.
Expand market presence: Identify and pursue opportunities in emerging categories such as clean label, plant-based, and functional foods.
Strengthen client relationships: Build long-term partnerships with key accounts including national retailers, food service operators, and distributors.
Leverage industry data and insights: Analyze category trends, consumer behavior, and competitive activity to inform sales tactics and product positioning.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with R&D, marketing, and operations to ensure product-market fit, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery.
Qualifications:
Experience: 8+ years in a senior sales leadership role within the food & beverage industry, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and scale high-performing sales teams in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Industry expertise: Deep understanding of F&B sales channels, category management, and customer dynamics.
Communication: Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic mindset: Ability to translate market insights into actionable sales strategies.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or related field (MBA preferred).
