We are seeking a seasoned and driven Director of Sales to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel at building relationships, identifying opportunities, and closing business. This role requires strategic selling skills, exceptional active listening abilities, and a strong blend of lead generation, business acumen, and creativity. Frequent overnight travel for client visits and presentations will be necessary. This position focuses on developing new business opportunities, with less emphasis on managing existing accounts or leading a sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting Conduct cold calls, prospect, and engage in lead generation activities to maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Client Relationship Development Identify and connect with decision-makers within target organizations.
  • Sales Presentations Present and sell a range of customer experience measurement services, including mystery shopping, contact center services, merchandising, analytics, and consumer insight research.
  • Strategic Sales Planning Collaborate with team members to develop effective sales strategies tailored to client needs.
  • Value Proposition Communication Articulate the company’s value proposition in a way that resonates with potential clients.
  • Program Development Work with internal teams to design and propose profitable programs that align with client objectives.
  • Competitive Awareness Maintain a thorough understanding of competitive offerings and market trends to inform sales strategies.
  • Client Needs Assessment Evaluate client needs and gauge interest during initial discussions.
  • Proposal Development Prepare and present service proposals and formal presentations to prospective clients, both virtually and in person.
  • Adaptability Stay informed about new product offerings and market strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5-7 years of direct, outside sales experience with a proven track record of selling complex, consultative services to large corporations, including Fortune 500 companies.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience selling merchandising, mystery shopping, or research/information services to verticals such as Retail, Restaurant, Petro Convenience, Telecom, Grocery, CPG, Banking, and Hospitality.
  • Proven ability to exceed sales quotas consistently.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with C-suite executives.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and sales contact software.
  • Track record of developing and implementing winning sales strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings and presentations.

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer.
