Job summary

Ergon, Inc. is seeking a Director of Health and Safety to develop and oversee strategic health and safety programs for its Asphalt & Crafco operations, leading a national team.

The role ensures compliance with OSHA/EPA regulations, conducts risk assessments, and drives a proactive safety culture across the organization in Flowood, MS. Strong leadership, CSP preferred, and data-driven decision making are key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in health and safety management.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
• Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or similar is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of safety professionals supporting Ergon Asphalt & Crafco operations across the US.
• Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.).
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and improvement opportunities.
• Lead incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Design and deliver safety training programs for employees and management.
• Monitor workplace conditions and advocate for safety improvements.
• Maintain records of inspections, incidents, and compliance metrics.
