Job summary

Phillips Academy seeks a Director of Rowing to lead its crew program and guide both girls’ and boys’ rowing with a clear vision for training, competition, and growth. The role oversees over 100 athletes and a coaching staff, aligning with campus leadership to shape programming and performance.

This 12-month, benefits-eligible position may be full-time or part-time based on qualifications, with start date July 1, 2027. The academy emphasizes a safe, vibrant, and inclusive learning community.

Responsibilities

• Managing the coaching staff.
• Communicating with students, parents, and external partners.
• Managing the boathouse facility and equipment to ensure safety and optimal training.
• Partnering with Academy leadership to explore summer and auxiliary programming.
• Setting a vision for the program including boat selection, technique, training, and racing strategies.
• Collaborating with admissions and college counseling to support athletes in the college process.
