Job summary

The Last Resort Recovery Center seeks a Director of Risk Management & Performance Improvement to lead risk, QA, and compliance across the facility in Smithville, TX. You will design and oversee risk programs, incident reporting, and policy development to safeguard patients and staff.

You will partner with clinical leadership to sustain high-quality care, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business or related field
• Five or more years’ experience in risk management position
• One or more years’ supervisory experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations of federal, state and local governmental agencies and accrediting bodies
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle high-risk situations

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze actual and potential risks in the facility; assess liability and probability of legal action for potential notification
• Implement incident reporting system throughout the facility
• Develop and implement risk management program throughout the facility
• Create infrastructures and systems that support patient safety
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure procedures are followed by all employees
• Establish internal control systems with auditors and security contractors
• Monitor program performance data to determine effectiveness and identify improvements
• Ensure compliance with administrative requirements and regulatory standards
• Identify high-risk areas that could harm patients, visitors, or staff
• Oversee documentation and review programs for full disclosure activities
• Provide staff management including hiring, training, and performance management
• Serve as resource for risk management, policy development, and compliance initiatives
• Work with clinical management to prevent clinical risks across the facility
• Develop relationships to improve patient care delivery and safety
• Create policies to improve patient care and confidentiality
• Oversee QAPI program development and data analysis
• Delegate QAPI and risk management activities to department directors
• Monitor accreditation and state licensure compliance
