Dufry Careers in Bethesda, MD seeks a Director, Risk Management to lead North America's business insurance program, including workers’ compensation, general liability, and property coverage. You will oversee broker relations, risk transfer strategies and ensure safety and compliance across the organization.

This role partners with Legal, Operations and Development; develops safety policies, trains field teams and guides crisis response.

Qualifications

• The combination of education and professional experience must exceed eight years.
• In a leadership role: Requires 3 years of experience leading a team of professionals in risk management.
• In a technical role: Requires 8 years delivering risk management programs.
• Industry experience in Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages business insurance policies including Workers’ Compensation, Employer’s Liability, General Liability and more; directs broker activities and carrier relations.
• Leads settlement negotiations and directs claims administration with Third Party Administrators.
• Oversees annual renewal activities; analyzes payroll data, headcount, location-specific values and regulatory requirements.
• Develops and revises safety policies; implements new safety programs company-wide.
• Provides field training on safety and Drug Free Workplace program.
• Supports crisis management and coordinates with internal/external stakeholders.
• Reviews contracts to ensure required insurance coverage complies with policies.
