Job summary

Colours, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Director of Operations to oversee Midwest retail locations and ensure exceptional customer service across Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and surrounding markets.

You will provide strategic direction, manage store performance, and collaborate with sales, inventory, and store leaders to drive efficiency and growth. The role requires multi-location leadership, budgeting, inventory stewardship, and travel across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• Five years of progressive retail or multi-location management experience.
• Experience overseeing multiple locations or store managers.
• Experience managing budgets, inventory, customer service and employee performance.
• Automotive, coatings, distribution, or related industry experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership for retail store operations, including staffing and scheduling.
• Champion customer service excellence and empower employees to deliver outstanding experiences.
• Oversee store presentation and merchandising to boost visibility and sales opportunities.
• Partner with inventory management to maintain appropriate stock and minimize shrinkage.
• Develop and manage store operating budgets while controlling expenses.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety requirements, and regulations.
• Analyze sales and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Coach store managers and associates to strengthen performance and leadership.
• Foster collaboration between Store Operations and other departments.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and service.
• Support receivables management by monitoring customer accounts.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
