Job summary

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions seeks a Director of Retail to lead all resort retail operations, including year-round outlets. You will manage guest service, inventory, and budgets, while exploring pop-up opportunities to boost revenue.

As a member of the leadership team, you’ll coach retail associates, ensure brand consistency, and deliver unforgettable guest experiences in a dynamic resort environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• At least 1-2 years of management experience in a hotel, resort or retail environment.

• Lead, coach, and develop retail associates to foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
• Manage budgets, inventory, and financial performance, including forecasting, purchasing, and meeting sales targets.
• Identify and implement merchandising strategies and pop-up retail opportunities that enhance the guest experience and drive revenue.
• Develop and enforce operational standards and procedures to ensure compliance, efficiency, and a consistently high-quality retail environment.

Director of Retail

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Director of Retail. In this role, you’ll manage all retail operations throughout the resort, including year-round outlets such as Marrakesh Market, Indigo Swimwear & Accessories, and Kalahari Outpost. You’ll operate in a “for-profit” environment, seek pop-up opportunities throughout the resort, and ensure guest service exceeds expectations. You’ll also monitor inventory levels, manage budgets, and meet monthly sales goals while fostering a positive working environment.

As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll enhance the guest and associate experience by leading dynamic retail operations that offer convenient, high-quality shopping experiences throughout the resort. Through strong leadership and support, you’ll empower associates to deliver exceptional service while fostering a positive, engaging work environment.

What We’re Looking For

• We do require that you have a minimum of four years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• At least 1-2 years of management experience in a hotel, resort or retail environment is required.
