Job summary

Meta designs, builds, leases, and operates data centers. Meta is seeking a Director of Regional Development to lead the regional development program and expand Meta’s data center capacity strategy in North America and beyond.

This role has overall responsibility for developing new capacity and delivering it strategically. You will identify development opportunities, structure deals, and coordinate with design, engineering, construction, and legal teams to meet aggressive capacity targets while

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in industrial real estate, infrastructure and development space.
• 8+ years managing regional programs and organizations.
• Proven commercial leadership and negotiation experience on complex multi-variable deals.

Responsibilities

• Grow and lead regional development including site identification and capacity delivery opportunities.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, construction, network, and legal to execute capacity targets.
• Guide strategic approach to new capacity while mitigating risk and ensuring contingency plans.
• Accountable for data center site selection and development within North America.
• Deliver cost effective capacity with focus on flexibility and optionality.
• Represent Meta in meetings with suppliers, governments, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Recruit and mentor staff and support learning and career development.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed (25%+).

Summary:

Meta designs, builds, leases, and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world. Meta is seeking a Director of Regional Development to develop Meta’s global data center portfolio in line with the company’s strategic objectives to advance our efforts around AI. This role has overall regional responsibility for development of the data center capacity.

Required Skills:

Director of Regional Development Responsibilities:

1. Grow and lead the regional development program including identification and commercial structuring of development, site selection and capacity delivery opportunities to enable future data center capacity growth
2. Collaborate with key leaders across design, engineering, construction, network, and legal to develop the strategic plan needed to execute against the company’s aggressive capacity targets
3. Guide team members on overall strategic approach to developing new capacity while mitigating risk and ensuring that sufficient contingency plans are in place
4. Accountable for data center site selection and development within a defined geographic area within North America
5. Focus on delivering cost effective capacity while optimizing for flexibility and optionality
6. Represent Meta in meetings with executives from potential suppliers, governments, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
7. Recruit, on-board, and mentor internal staff and ensure robust learning and career development
8. Travel domestically and internationally as needed (25%+)

Minimum Qualifications:

1. 15+ years of overall experience in industrial real estate, infrastructure and development space
2. Proven track record of delivering large scale multi-party deals resulting in data center capacity delivery
3. 8+ years experience managing regional programs and organizations
4. Proven commercial leadership and negotiation experience on multi-variable, complex deals involving scalable land, energy,and third party data center capacity
5. Proven track record of delivering large capital projects leveraging complex commercial structures
6. Experience developing the vision in
