Job summary

Petro Star Inc. seeks a Director of Training and Development to standardize training across Alaska’s NPR and PSVR refineries. You will design comprehensive programs for operations, maintenance, and technical staff, and ensure regulator-ready records and competencies.

You will implement LMS tools, build succession plans, and collaborate with site leadership to strengthen safety culture and workforce capability. Regular travel between North Pole and Valdez is required.

Qualifications

8-12+ years of experience in refining, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
Experience in training, workforce development, or operations/maintenance leadership roles.
Strong understanding of refinery operations, maintenance practices, and PSM requirements.
Experience supporting multiple sites (NPR/PSVR-type environments) preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a standardized, multi-site training strategy across NPR and PSVR.
Design and manage structured training programs for operations, maintenance, and technical personnel.
Establish competency frameworks, qualification standards, and career progression pathways.
Continuously evaluate and improve training effectiveness using performance data and feedback.
Lead onboarding and qualification processes for new employees at both refineries.
