Job summary

Care One at King James in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, is hiring a Director of Recreation for a full-time position. The role oversees activity programs, discharge planning, and committee participation, with budget responsibilities and staff collaboration.

The ideal candidate brings leadership, dementia activity experience, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends, along with an Activity Director Certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.
• Familiar with documentation requirements for Long Term Care.
• Must possess leadership ability and motivational skills for effective communication and program development with staff and residents.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings/weekends.
• Previous experience with dementia activities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of this facility.
• Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Serve on, participate in and attend various committees of the facility i.e.: CQI, Care Plan Meeting, Department Head Meeting.
• Prepare and project annual budget, track expenditures compared to budget on a monthly basis.
