Job description

Keller Executive Search is seeking a highly experienced Director of Real Estate Risk Governance to join a leading real estate firm. This pivotal role will focus on overseeing and enhancing risk management frameworks and governance practices related to the real estate portfolio. The successful candidate will work in tandem with executive leadership to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and promote a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement a robust real estate risk governance framework.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor risks associated with real estate investments and operations.
  • Advise senior management on risk-related matters and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead the creation of risk mitigation strategies and response plans for various real estate-related scenarios.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate risk governance into business processes.
  • Provide training and resources to staff on risk management best practices.
  • Prepare and present risk assessments and governance reports to stakeholders and the board.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends impacting real estate risk governance.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, CRM) preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in risk governance, real estate risk management, or compliance roles.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, frameworks, and regulations.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and develop strategic risk management plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in leading teams and fostering a risk-aware culture within an organization.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Competitive salary range of approximately $180,000 to $280,000
