Job summary

Jacobs Management Group seeks a Senior Director of Research & Development / Head of R&D for a global medical devices leader. Based in the Metro Atlanta area, you will own the pipeline for connected devices, capital equipment, software, and AI/ML clinical decision support from concept to commercialization.

You will define platform R&D strategy, build business cases for new tech, and lead cross-functional programs spanning hardware, software, systems engineering, and informatics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Experience commercializing medical devices from concept through launch.
• Led development across systems engineering, software, hardware, and capital equipment.
• Built and led global, cross-functional teams in a heavily matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Define the platform R&D strategy and build business cases for new technologies.
• Lead programs end to end across hardware, software, systems engineering, and informatics.
• Oversee design reviews, risk management, V&V strategy, and transfer to manufacturing.
• Manage departmental budgets, resource plans, and capital investments.
• Lead NPD and Sustaining Engineering.

Senior Director, Research & Development / Head of R&D, Medical Devices

My client, a global medical device company, needs a Senior Director of R&D to lead its acute care platform. You'll own the pipeline for connected devices, capital equipment, software, and AI/ML clinical decision support, from concept through commercialization.
