Job summary

BD is a global medical technology leader seeking a Senior Engineering Leader to drive complex platform development. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, set project plans, and align engineering goals with business priorities, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance across programs.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, budgeting, and mentoring, with strong experience in DFSS and FDA-regulated environments. On-site collaboration is required in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering field (Mechanical, Systems, Physics, Electrical, Biomedical, Software).
• 10 years of growing responsibility in R&D technical engineering roles with experience in product development.
• Understanding of quality management systems
• Regulated industry experience (FDA, Automotive, Industrial, etc).
• Experience with design for manufacturing, process validation and design transfer
• Experience leading a team of multi-disciplinary engineers.
• Project management experience for sophisticated systems.
• Experience in a proven design process (e.g. DFSS) over multiple programs.
• Master's degree or PhD ... +5 years of industry experience, with extensive product development and QM

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical leader for complex medical device platform(s) and sub-projects with responsibilities for large elements of the product development effort.
• Provide technical leadership, direct and indirect reports, with the ability to deep dive into technical issues.
• Implement best-in-class R&D tools, processes & standards within the development platform.
• Lead in the development of project plans and timelines for product delivery.
• Create Product Development goals linked with business priorities and traced to engineering responsibilities.
• Drive and lead innovative problem resolution at an accelerated pace.
• Work in a development environment supporting both organic and inorganic development opportunities
• Lead with Functional Leaders to assign engineering disciplines to achieve platform goals.
• Mentor, develop and manage performance of talent assigned to the platform.
• Plan and administer yearly platform budget to ensure proper execution of deliverables
• Work with multi-functional engineering managers to ensure proper talent allocations throughout the year

Minimum Requirements

Preferred Skills/Knowledge

• Master's degree or PhD (Mechanical, Systems, Physics, Electrical, Biomedical, Software) + 5 years of industry experience, with extensive, successful experience in product development and a clear understanding of quality management systems
• In Depth FDA experience
