Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Director of Quality in Midland, TX to lead quality across two heavy-fabrication operations. This role owns the Quality Management System, the quality team, and the continuous improvement programme, ensuring ASME, API and AWS compliance while maintaining audit readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading QA/QC management systems in steel/heavy manufacturing.
• Proven experience with ASME, API Q1 and AWS.
• Hands-on quality leadership on the shop floor and audits.
• Experience in managing customer, third-party, and industry audits.
• Ability to own and improve the QMS across two fabrication operations.
• Active CWI certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the QMS across two fabrication operations.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, API, API Q1, AWS and customer requirements.
• Lead, develop and hold the quality team accountable.
• Maintain audit readiness and act as the key contact for customers, registrars and third-party inspectors.
• Provide hands-on shop-floor quality leadership.
• Oversee WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications, welding inspection, NDE, material traceability, MTRs and heat numbers.
• Support structural steel quality and AWS requirements.
• Lead non-conformance investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Partner with production, engineering, operations and executive leadership to maintain quality while supporting delivery and growth.
