The Director of QA/QC provides results-driven leadership across Supplier Quality and In-Process and Outgoing
Quality to ensure our climbing products meet the quality, integrity, and regulatory standards our customers expect.
This role develops, implements, and periodically evaluates programs that govern production operations from raw
materials to finished goods, and leads the quality supervisor, inspectors, and engineering technicians in support of
that mission.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate production operations at a strategic level to ensure products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and specification requirements across all manufacturing lines.
- Develop, implement, and execute methods to inspect products and production equipment in adherence with established quality processes and procedures.
- Identify gaps in quality policies and procedures and drive corrective action through a Corrective Action Response System (CAR).
- Develop and implement supplier and vendor quality requirements, driving timely closure and validation of corrective action requests.
- Collaborate with management and senior staff across production departments to draft and maintain acceptable quality standards.
- Drive a culture of quality ownership across the organization.
- Approve recommended changes and conduct random inspections and quality control checks on the production floor.
- Review quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
- Communicate with other teams, departments, and stakeholders to ensure quality processes remain aligned with business objectives.
- Own the QA budget, including deployment of justified CAPEX, driving measurable year-over-year productivity improvement.
- Periodically report the status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in quality control, sharing knowledge with team members and stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
- 3-5 years of progressive manufacturing quality leadership experience required.
- ASQ CMQ/QE (Certified Manager of Quality / Certified Quality Engineer) certification required.
- Lean Six Sigma Belt (Green or Black) preferred.
