Job summary

Clarios, LLC is seeking a Director of Quality for the US/Canada region. This leadership role oversees the quality management systems, drives continuous improvement, and supports cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives on the shop floor.

The role requires deep QA knowledge, hands-on plant experience, and the ability to lead initiatives across manufacturing operations while ensuring adherence to TS/ISO standards and customer requirements.

What you will do

The Director, Quality - US /CAN at Clarios is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality management systems across the United States. This role involves ensuring compliance with quality standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with various departments to achieve quality objectives. The Director plays a critical role in decision-making and accountability, moving quality management closer to where the work is executed at the plants. The position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of quality assurance processes, and the ability to manage and support quality teams within operations. This position requires depth in operations and quality with extensive hands on shop floor experience.

How you will do it

Develop and deploy a world-class quality management system and lead significant quality improvement across the region. Ensure compliance with quality standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Manage quality assurance including Systems, APQP, and Warranty, as well as among internal and external suppliers. Lead global quality testing processes to meet customer quality requirements. Provide leadership in the Quality discipline, including strict enforcement of Control Plans, specifications, and TS/ISO requirements. Collaborate with various departments to achieve quality objectives and support quality teams within operations. Develop and implement a Quality strategy that delivers measurable value by generating process improvements, building customer satisfaction, and improving profitability. Promote Quality best practices within the organization. Manage Regional warranty and customer claims working directly with critical customers. Support new product/process launch to meet customer quality standards. Take part in the definition and development of quality objectives in the business plan and strategic planning. Ensure quality controls are functioning in the areas of process, purchased material, and final product quality to maintain internal and external quality costs. Drive accountability across the region to improve our quality levels and adhere to our quality management system. In order to succeed in this role, the individual must have a sound knowledge of performance strategies in addition to internal business acumen that complement the work.

What we look for
  • Required Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline is required.
  • At least 10 years of operations related work experience.
  • At least 5 years of quality related work experience.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and practices as they relate to manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain.
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives, manage projects, and work as part of a project team.
  • Demonstrated high energy level and the drive required to proactively lead activities within a dynamic business environment.
  • Hands-on style and willingness to perform a range of detailed work.
  • The motivation, adaptability, and professional qualities to work well with individuals in multiple disciplines and across global organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Teams using video and audio technology.
  • Experience in developing and implementing quality strategies that deliver measurable value.
  • Ability to collaborate and build partnerships with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Sound analytical abilities and business sense.
