Happen Bank in San Francisco is seeking a Director, Quality Engineering & AI to lead our QE org and transform how we use AI to deliver secure, reliable, high-quality experiences across web and mobile platforms.

You will define the strategy, mentor engineers, and partner with product, platform, risk, and business teams to scale testing and uphold strict regulatory standards in financial services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in quality engineering or test automation.
• 6+ years leading and developing teams.
• Experience testing regulated financial systems.
• Experience with AI testing tools and strategies.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve outcomes.
• Deep knowledge of web/mobile testing and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Own QE strategy across Consumer Engineering and AI-driven testing.
• Lead QA engineers supporting web, mobile, originations, and decisioning.
• Drive AI-enabled test automation to accelerate testing depth.
• Certify release readiness with risk-based testing standards.
• Develop quality gates to reduce escaped defects with AI tools.
• Partner with engineering, product, risk, and business teams on change.
• Influence testing infra, automation, and CI/CD tooling.
• Use delivery data to focus on high-impact problems.
