Job summary

Rhode Island School of Design seeks a Director, Prospect Intelligence to drive proactive donor identification and actionable intelligence for frontline fundraisers. You will merge investigative research with predictive modeling to enhance RISD’s donor pipeline and growth.

You will lead the prospect intelligence team, mentor staff, manage workloads, and align research capabilities with RISD’s fundraising goals. This role requires strategic oversight and collaboration across Advancement teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and seven years of experience in advancement, prospect development, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum educational requirement.

Responsibilities

• Proactively conduct research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using standard resources (LexisNexis, iWave, Donor Search).
• Utilize wealth screenings to identify opportunities for qualification of donors.
• Lead qualification processes to evaluate giving capacity and affinity for RISD.
• Identify potential candidates for boards and leadership roles.
• Apply data analytics and predictive modeling to explain donor trends and forecast giving behavior.
• Maintain the institutional database with accurate histories and records.
