Job summary

C.W. Driver Companies is recruiting a Director of Project Development to oversee business development, strategic positioning, and preconstruction across assigned markets. This role drives opportunities and aligns client objectives with design and delivery strategies.

The position partners with clients, design partners, and internal teams to champion design-build, design-assist, IPD, and alternative delivery methods while integrating technical solutions that differentiate the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a construction-related field.
• 10+ years of commercial construction experience with leadership in preconstruction or project development.
• Strong ability to develop client relationships and market networks.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new project opportunities through market research and relationship development.
• Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects, and engineers.
• Lead pursuit strategies for proposals and presentations and coach interview teams.
• Champion alternative delivery methods (design-build, design-assist, IPD, PPP).
• Lead preconstruction and design management activities with Estimating, BIM, Scheduling, and Operations.
• Coordinate design teams and consultants for design-build pursuits.
• Translate client goals into practical design and construction strategies.
• Support estimating, scheduling, value engineering, and life-cycle cost analyses.
