Job summary

Borealis Philanthropy seeks a senior program leader to oversee grantmaking, donor relations, and organizational strategy from a national remote setting. You will supervise staff across funds, drive capacity-building, and collaborate with VP/President to implement annual plans and donor outreach.

Strong experience in philanthropy, outstanding writing and public speaking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual, nationwide team are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in philanthropic/nonprofit management.
• Deep commitment to Borealis core values.
• Depth and breadth of knowledge of grantmaking and capacity-building approaches
• Familiarity with the issues and movements Borealis funds
• Experience with donor collaboratives is a plus
• Collaborative work with peers in shared efforts
• Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
• High integrity and quality standards
• Ability to work remotely within a national scope

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff across designated funds and senior grants manager.
• Support professional development and annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Oversee off-cycle grantmaking procedures and board approvals.
• Coordinate board participation for grantmaking meetings and attend fund meetings.
• Oversee grants administration and due diligence with finance team.
• Oversee grantee evaluation and capacity-building programs.
• Develop annual work plans for funds and coordinate monthly program staff meetings.
• Plan and implement staff and board retreat activities with leadership.
• Identify and cultivate new donors; present to donors as needed.
• Collaborate with Communications to implement fundraising content and plans.
• Address organization-wide needs and support Borealis activities.
