Job summary

The Charter Township of Van Buren seeks a Director of Program Development & Marketing to lead the design and delivery of programming for the Van Buren Community Center and related facilities. This leadership role drives the strategic vision for modern, engaging programs and oversees marketing and enrollment activities.

Collaborating with department heads, the director builds community partnerships, promotes events, and coordinates with schools to expand participation.

Qualifications

• Experience developing marketing and communications strategies.
• Experience managing social media and digital communications.
• Experience creating professional written, visual, and multimedia content.
• Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

Responsibilities

• Develop fitness, health, wellness and sporting programming for the VBC and ensure successful implementation.
• Serve as primary marketing resource for leisure and recreation activities across facilities.
• Engage with community groups and schools to build interest and participation.
• Design programs aligned with community needs and emerging trends in recreation.
• Develop communications strategies to promote programs and events and manage public messaging.
• Lead department staff, hire and supervise as needed in collaboration with CS Operations Director.
