Job summary

Van Buren Township is seeking a Director of Program Development & Marketing to lead programming, marketing, and community engagement for the Van Buren Community Center and parks. You will shape strategic plans, expand memberships, and secure instructors for wellness programming.

The ideal candidate will be socially savvy, with a track record of building programs and driving attendance through digital marketing and live events.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies.
• Experience managing social media platforms and digital communications.
• Experience creating professional written, visual, and multimedia content.
• Proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Experience with website content management systems and digital engagement platforms.
• Experience with photography, video production, graphic design, and digital content creation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to interpret engagement metrics and use data to improve communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies.
• Manage social media platforms and digital communications.
• Create program descriptions, event announcements, registration information.
• Design marketing materials and social media campaigns.
• Coordinate with Communications Department for branding and messaging.
• Work with community groups to build interest and participation.
• Hire, supervise staff and contractors as needed.
• Prepare and monitor department budget.
