Job summary

LPX Group is seeking a Director of Preconstruction to lead estimating across water/wastewater, industrial, streetscapes/parks, and commercial markets. You will build an estimating function, mentor the team, and partner with operations, field leadership, and BD to deliver accurate, executable estimates.

You’ll drive bid decisions, establish standards, and optimize tools like InEight, Procore, Bluebeam, and Agtech while shaping the company’s strategic outlook. Strong leadership required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior estimator or preconstruction leadership role.
• Experience estimating civil scopes: concrete structures, underground pipes, earthwork, site construction.
• Proficiency with major estimating software.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead all estimating activities across water/wastewater, industrial, streetscapes/parks, and commercial markets.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve estimating standards, workflows, software tools, and bid packages.
• Own bid/no-bid decision process in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Collaborate with operations and business development teams on pursuit strategy, qualifications, and proposal preparation.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop an estimating team capable of supporting growth.
• Establish clear performance expectations and coach the estimating team.
• Own and optimize the company’s estimating software platform (InEight, Procore, Bluebeam, Agtech).
• Develop and maintain historical cost data and productivity benchmarks with field operations.
• Support post‑bid analysis and continuous improvement of win rates and margin outcomes.
