Goliath Construction Consulting is seeking an experienced Director of Preconstruction for a well-established electrical contractor. We are looking for a seasoned electrical construction leader with a strong background in estimating and preconstruction who can lead the estimating team, improve processes, and help support the company’s continued growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven preconstruction leader who brings a “been there, done that” perspective and enjoys developing and mentoring others.

About the Role

The Director of Preconstruction will lead and develop the electrical estimating and preconstruction team, oversee estimating and preconstruction strategy, and partner closely with executive leadership, operations, and business development while mentoring and supporting developing team members and improving processes, standards, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the electrical estimating and preconstruction team.
• Oversee estimating, budgeting, value engineering, proposals, and preconstruction strategy.
• Review major estimates, project scopes, risks, pricing, and pursuit strategies.
• Partner closely with executive leadership, operations, and business development.
• Mentor and support developing team members, including the company’s business development function.
• Improve estimating and preconstruction processes, standards, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Significant electrical construction estimating and preconstruction experience.
• Previous leadership experience managing an estimating or preconstruction team.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction, labor, material pricing, project risk, and estimating practices.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with a commercial or industrial electrical contractor strongly preferred.
