Job summary

G&E Partners is seeking a Sr Director of Preconstruction to own a high-dollar portfolio from preconstruction through construction. You will direct cost estimating, risk analysis, and value engineering for complex heavy civil projects and serve as the primary liaison with owners, JV partners, and design teams.

The role demands a track record of leading senior estimators, de-risking pursuits, and driving GMP/proposal development while aligning plans with financial targets and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive construction/preconstruction leadership.
• Track record of winning and de-risking complex, multi-million-dollar pursuits.
• Proven ability to lead senior-level estimating and preconstruction personnel.
• Executive presence and gravitas to lead estimators and negotiate with ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own the preconstruction P&L for a portfolio of complex, high-dollar pursuits while helping secure new business.
• Direct cost estimating, risk and feasibility analysis, and value engineering for heavy civil infrastructure projects through procurement, bid packaging, and a handover to field operations.
• Lead strategy, estimating, and GMP/proposal development through hand off to construction.
• Serve as executive sponsor and primary client contact for owners, JV partners, and design teams.
• Ensure alignment of preconstruction plans, estimates, and schedules with financial targets and standards.
• Evaluate and mitigate contractual and financial risk during pursuit and preconstruction.
• Build and mentor the next generation of preconstruction leadership.
• Champion safety and reinforce quality standards across pursuits.
• Identify succession bench strength and mentor Preconstruction Managers and senior staff.

This opportunity is for someone ready to take the next step intro overseeing and owning an unrivaled portfolio from Preconstruction through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the preconstruction P&L for a portfolio of complex, high-dollar pursuits whilst helping secure new business
• Direct cost estimating, risk and feasibility analysis, and value engineering for heavy civil infrastructure projects through procurement, bid packaging, and a clean handover to field operations.
• Lead strategy, estimating, and GMP/proposal development through hand off to construction
• Serve as executive sponsor and primary client contact for owners, JV partners, and design teams
• Ensure alignment of preconstruction plans, estimates, and schedules with financial targets and operational standards
• Evaluate and mitigate contractual and financial risk during pursuit and preconstruction
• Build, mentor, and develop the next generation of preconstruction leadership
• Champion a safety-first culture and reinforce quality standards/lessons-learned across pursuits
