Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment seeks a Director of Preconstruction for a Dallas-based general contractor delivering complex commercial projects across the DFW area.

You will lead opportunities from early stage through contract award, partnering with owners, developers, architects, estimators and project management teams to craft competitive, accurate, commercially sound proposals for multi‑sector projects spanning office, retail, industrial, hospitality and renovations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of construction experience with strong preconstruction leadership.
• Proven track record leading major commercial pursuits.
• Experience with projects from $10M–$150M+.
• Experience with 20,000–500,000+ sq. ft. projects.
• Strong knowledge of costs, means, methods and sequencing.
• Excellent conceptual and detailed estimating skills.

Our portfolio spans a broad range of construction sectors, from ground-up commercial and retail developments to large-scale industrial facilities and complex renovations.

The Opportunity

The Director of Preconstruction will lead projects from the earliest stages of opportunity through contract award and successful transition to operations.

You will work directly with executive leadership, owners, developers, architects, engineers, consultants, estimators and project management teams to develop competitive, accurate and commercially sound proposals.

Project Sectors

Experience across several of the following sectors is preferred:

• Commercial: Office buildings, corporate facilities, medical, professional and mixed-use developments.
• Retail: Shopping centers, lifestyle centers, grocery, big-box, stand-alone retail and tenant improvements.
• Industrial: Manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, distribution and flex-industrial facilities.
• Hospitality: Hotels, restaurants and hospitality developments.
• Special Projects: Major renovations, occupied buildings, repositioning, phased construction and tenant improvements.
• Typical projects: 20,000–500,000+ sq. ft. and $10M–$150M+.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• 12+ years of construction experience, including significant preconstruction leadership.
• Proven experience leading major commercial construction pursuits.
• Experience with projects ranging from $10M–$150M+.
• Experience with projects ranging from 20,000–500,000+ sq. ft.
• Strong commercial, retail and/or industrial construction experience.
• Excellent conceptual and detailed estimating skills.
• Strong knowledge of construction costs, means, methods and sequencing.
