Job summary

nTop seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the platform engineering teams responsible for the modeling and rendering engine, simulation capabilities, and distributed computing.

Reporting to the CTO, you will translate strategy into plans, build a leadership team, and drive an AI-native software development lifecycle while delivering on ambitious timelines. This role sits at an inflection point as we ship for current customers and build the next generation of the product.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading engineering organizations, including managing engineering managers across multiple teams.
• Track record of making an engineering organization faster — you've changed how a team plans, builds, tests, or ships, and you can point to the result.
• Delivered a new product from zero to one while keeping existing products healthy.
• Hands-on experience leading the adoption of AI-assisted development in an engineering organization, and a clear point of view on how it changes process, staffing, and quality.
• Enough technical depth to be credible with expert engineers in geometry, GPU computing, physics simulation, or distributed systems.
• Exceptional at prioritization and decision-making under an ambitious timeline, and creative about how work gets done.

Responsibilities

• Own execution of the product platform roadmap. Turn direction into engineering plans with clear ownership.
• Lead and grow the engineering management team; hire, develop, and coach managers.
• Drive the shift to AI-assisted development across the platform organization.
• Make the engineering process faster end to end; automate testing and validation where possible.
• Deliver zero-to-one and one-to-n products while keeping current products shipping and improving.
• Partner with Product and represent platform engineering to leadership.
