Job summary

Community Hospital System seeks a Director of Physical Therapy to oversee therapy departments, manage daily operations, and ensure clinical standards across multiple settings. The role focuses on staff supervision, patient care delivery, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced hospital system.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of rehab experience, with at least 2 years in management, and hold a relevant license.

Qualifications

• Current state license in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Therapy as applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an accredited therapy program is required.
• Master’s or Doctorate in professional or management area preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of rehabilitation experience, including at least 2 years in management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of therapy departments across settings.
• Hire, mentor, evaluate, and schedule therapists, assistants, and support staff.
• Provide direct patient assessments and design complex treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state/federal laws, and billing standards.
• Assist with departmental budgeting, equipment, and productivity monitoring.

Oversee therapy departments in a variety of settings, while managing the daily operations, staff, and clinical standards.

• Department Management: Oversee daily operations, patient scheduling, and workflow efficiency across the facility.
• Staff Supervision: Hire, mentor, evaluate, and schedule physical therapists, assistants, and support personnel.
• Patient Care: Provide direct patient evaluations, design complex treatment plans, and perform hands‑on therapy as needed.
• Compliance & Quality: Ensure adherence to state and federal healthcare laws, HIPAA regulations, and third‑party billing/Medicare standards.
• Financial Oversight: Assist with departmental budgeting, resource allocation, equipment purchasing, and productivity monitoring.

Qualifications:

• State license in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited therapy program
• Additional training with a Master’s or Doctor’s degree in either professional or management area preferred.
• 5 years of rehabilitation experience, which includes two years in management, is required
