Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Director of Physical Deployment to own the end-to-end physical deployment of GPU clusters—from data hall readiness to full rack energization and handoff to the Logical Deployment team.

The role requires 12+ years in data center/hardware deployment, with 5+ years leading teams, and substantial travel to data center sites. You will drive schedules, coordinate with OEMs and partners, and build scalable playbooks.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data center, hyperscale infrastructure or large-scale hardware deployment.
• 5+ years leading teams.
• Direct experience delivering multi-megawatt GPU or HPC clusters, from data hall readiness through rack energization.
• Working knowledge of data center power, cooling, cabling and rack integration.
• Track record of managing OEMs, data center operators and construction partners to firm commitments.
• Strong ability to build integrated schedules and critical paths across many parties, with recovery when slips occur.
• Clear, concise executive communication, in writing and in person, with honest forecasts.
• Ability to travel 90%+ to data center sites, often on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrated physical schedule for each cluster, including data center access, rack delivery, power, cooling, cabling and validation tests.
• Set and defend milestone dates, build in buffer, and extend early when float disappears.
• Run daily and weekly site cadences with data center partners, OEMs, cabling vendors and onsite teams.
• Maintain rack-level tracking so leadership can see exact rack status and manage risk.
• Track GPU, rack, switch, transceiver and cabling materials against need dates with Supply Chain.
• Collaborate with data center partners on power and cooling readiness and energization.
• Lead recovery plans when supply, construction or staffing slips.
