Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Director of Philanthropy Special Event/Gifts to lead the strategic development and execution of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events that reinforce our mission and philanthropy strategy. You will manage budgets, marketing, security, and operations while building strong donor relations and community engagement.

The role requires proven leadership, strategic planning, and event management capabilities, with a track record in nonprofit fundraising and management.

Qualifications

• Master Degree OR a combination of education and/or additional job‑related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of not‑for‑profit fundraising and development experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the overall strategic development, implementation, and execution of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events.
• Oversee event budgets, marketing/promotion, security, purchasing, production, parking, and related operations.
• Foster community and donor engagement and strengthen brand awareness.
• Align events with the health system's Mission, Vision, Values, brand, and philanthropy strategy.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent communication skills.
