Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital seeks a Director of Pharmacy to provide strategic and operational leadership for inpatient, outpatient, specialty, and contract pharmacy programs. You will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations while driving clinical excellence and fiscal performance.

You will collaborate with executive leadership and medical staff to align services with the organization’s mission and growth goals, supervising leaders and enhancing patient-centered care across all age groups.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist with Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent.
• Ohio licensure required or eligible.
• Experience in pediatric pharmacy preferred.
• Leadership experience in a hospital pharmacy setting required.

Responsibilities

• Leads enterprise-wide pharmacy operations with focus on quality, safety, and compliance.
• Develops strategic plans for growth and clinical integration in collaboration with leadership.
• Oversees budgeting and revenue through retail, specialty, and contract programs.
• Supervises pharmacy staff and develops leaders.
• Partners with clinical teams for formulary management and collaboration.
• Monitors controlled substance use and ensures compliance.
• Implements quality improvements and medication safety strategies.
• Supports innovation in pharmacy services and Epic Willow workflows.
