HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL seeks a Director of Patient Safety to lead a culture of safety and drive proactive harm-reduction strategies across the organization.

You will develop strategic plans, oversee investigations of patient safety events, and partner with leadership to sustain open reporting and learning. This role requires CPPS within a year, strong leadership, and expertise in risk analysis; competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field required.
• CPPS (Certification in Patient Safety) within one year of hire; must meet state requirements as applicable.
• Three to five years relevant experience in patient safety, risk and/or quality; EHR and reporting system experience preferred.
• Knowledge of patient safety science principles, theory, methods, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership qualities and knowledge of safety analysis techniques (RCA, FMEA).
• Knowledge of rapid cycle improvement theory and human factors principles.
• Advanced computer skills with word processing and database competency.

Responsabilités

• Initiate and oversee proactive evaluation and redesign of systems to improve care processes to prevent future errors.
• Implement information and management systems that support patient safety and use data to support safety activities.
• Oversee investigations of serious events and reporting; coordinate internal and external disclosures.
• Facilitate participation in Risk Reduction Program components.
• Guide leadership to sustain an open, learning-oriented safety culture and safe systems.
