Work Location: Remote with onsite as needed

Work Hours: Full Time

The Director, Patient Engagement & Growth is the execution owner for the patient channel within the commercial growth engine. Where the VP of Growth sets patient engagement and outreach strategy and owns channel conversion targets, this Director turns that strategy into executed initiatives and recovered volume. The role closes the gaps where patients fall out of the funnel, most notably at order follow-up, scheduling, diagnostic workup, and annual return, and serves as the connective layer that lands engagement initiatives consistently across Operations, Marketing, the Contact Center, and the center network. Success is measured by reduced patient leakage, higher order-to-appointment conversion, and completed exam volume, all rolling up into the VP’s funnel-health and volume, rate, and mix cadence.

Department/Center Highlights:

  • Highly engaged culture.
  • Collaborative team environment
  • Fast-paced and Growth-Oriented

Here is what you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, healthcare administration, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 7+ years in patient engagement, growth marketing, demand conversion, or funnel and lifecycle management, with at least 3 years leading cross-functional initiatives or teams.
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred; women’s health, imaging, or multi-site provider operations a distinct advantage.
  • Demonstrated record of reducing funnel leakage or improving conversion through data, campaigns, and process change.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors or outreach partners to measurable performance targets.
  • Strong command of funnel analytics and campaign measurement; comfort with CRM, scheduling, and patient outreach platforms.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to lead through others across departments.

A Day in the Life of a Director of Patient Engagement and Growth:

  • Provide services and support for the following areas:
  • Funnel Execution & Leakage Recovery
  • Maintain a clear, data-backed view of patient-channel conversion and drop-off at every stage: referral received, order placed, appointment scheduled, exam completed, diagnostic follow-up, and annual rescreen.
  • Lead the initiatives that recover patients who leak from the funnel, with particular focus on unscheduled and aged open orders.
  • Feed stage-level leakage findings into the VP’s weekly funnel-health reviews and closed-loop reporting rather than operating a parallel analytics function, and translate those findings into prioritized recovery action.
  • Drive closure of incomplete diagnostic pathways, including BI-RADS 0 cases requiring additional imaging, so patients complete the full episode of care.
  • Campaign Execution
  • Execute the multi-channel patient engagement campaigns that deliver on the demand-generation strategy owned by the VP: recall and reactivation, no-show recovery, annual rescreen reminders, and compliance outreach.
  • Operationalize audience, messaging, cadence, and channel mix in partnership with Marketing, and run a disciplined test-and-learn program so effort shifts toward what measurably moves completed exams.
  • Report campaign performance into the VP’s operating cadence against conversion and volume targets.
  • Lead systematic operational follow-up on physician referrals and orders so every order received is pursued to scheduling, with clear ownership and service-level expectations for turnaround.
  • Close the loop back to referring physicians in coordination with the Sales team, which owns the account relationship, surfacing any friction that slows patients from order to appointment.
  • Track order and referral conversion by source and feed lost-conversion reasons back into the Sales, Marketing, and demand-generation teams.
  • Patient Engagement Initiative Leadership (Cross-Functional)
  • Lead patient engagement initiatives across a multi-department team spanning Operations, Marketing, and other functions as initiatives require.
  • Partner with, rather than manage, the VP, Contact Center Operations: align on the engagement initiatives that drive Contact Center volume while that team retains staffing, workforce management, technology, and agent quality.
  • Own the service-level agreement that directs the outbound call team, which stays within the Contact Center under the VP, Contact Center Operations but carries out the order follow-up, referral follow-up, and outreach work this role defines. Set attempt, turnaround, and conversion standards, review performance against them within the funnel-health cadence, and reprioritize the outbound queue as leakage patterns shift.
  • Set shared initiative goals, align the group on priorities, and hold the cross-functional team accountable to engagement and conversion outcomes through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Third-Party Outreach Partner Execution
  • Own day-to-day implementation and execution of the third-party outreach partnerships that the VP establishes, directing successful rollout against the agreed strategy.
  • Manage scopes of work and service levels, monitor partner results, and handle escalations and course corrections.
  • Keep partner activity integrated with internal campaigns and systems so the patient experience stays coherent across every touchpoint.
