Job summary

Bristol Hospice in Clackamas, OR seeks a Director of Patient Care Services to oversee hospice clinical services across Portland and Salem areas. You will guide coordinators, managers and clinical supervisors, manage budgets, and ensure quality and compliance with CHAP Home Care standards.

The ideal candidate is a registered nurse licensed in Oregon with leadership experience in hospice or healthcare. BSN preferred; strong communication and operational oversight are essential.

Qualifications

  • RN license in Oregon and current nursing practice.
  • BSN preferred; leadership experience in hospice or healthcare.
  • Experience managing clinical teams and budgets.

For more information about Bristol Hospice, visit bristolhospice.com or follow us on LinkedIn.Our CultureOur culture is cultivated using the following values:Integrity: We are honest and professional.Trust: We count on each other.Excellence: We strive to always do our best and look for ways to improve and excel.Accountability: We accept responsibility for our actions, attitudes, and mistakes.Mutual Respect: We treat others the way we want to be treated.On an Average Day You Will:(includes but not limited to)Coordinate and oversee all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical organization personnelProvide guidance and counseling to coordinators, case managers and Clinical Supervisors to assist them in continually improving all aspects of hospice care services, provided through organization personnelAssist Clinical Supervisors in managing clinical teams and planningProvide direction to case managers and clinical teams related to patient care deliveryProvide help in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care to all clinical personnel as indicatedAssist the Executive Director in the preparation and administration of the organization’s budgetInterpret operational indicators to detect census changes and increases or decreases in volume that could impact staffing levels, revenues or expensesEvaluate performance of Clinical Supervisors and/or case managersAssist Clinical Supervisors to develop skills and techniques in evaluating the performance of cliniciansHire, evaluate and terminate organization personnelConduct annual evaluations on clinicians, or more frequently, if indicatedOversee the maintenance of patient clinical records, statistics, reports and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organization activitiesAssure proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state and federal lawsResponsible for the maintenance of adequate and appropriate inventory supplies and equipment for the provision of patient servicesDevelop, implement and evaluate the orientation program for new organization personnelResponsible for orientation of new organization personnel, directly or delegatedPlan and implement in-service and continuing education programs to meet education and training needs of organization personnelAssist with the evaluation of organization performance via quality assurance and performance improvement program, productivity, quarterly and annual reviewsAssure the quality and safe delivery of hospice services provided through the organizationAssist in the development of organization goalsDevelop, recommend and administer organization policies and proceduresAssure compliance with all hospices related local, state and federal laws, including licensure and certification or organization personnel and maintain compliance to the CHAP Home Care standardsStay informed about changes in the field of nursing and hospice care; share information with appropriate organization personnelPromote hospice referrals in the health care communityIn the absence of the Executive Director, the DPCS will become the acting Executive Director and will be vested with authority to act in behalf of the Executive DirectorOther duties as assigned by the Executive DirectorRequirements:Must be a registered nurse in the state, with current licensure to practice professional nursingA bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing preferred.
