A leading health system in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Director of Patient Accounts to lead key revenue cycle operations and drive operational excellence within Patient Financial Services.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a revenue cycle professional who thrives in complex healthcare environments and enjoys leading teams, optimizing workflows, and improving financial performance.

The Director will oversee all aspects of patient account management, ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, regulatory compliance, and strong operational performance across the revenue cycle.

This role requires an onsite presence at healthcare facilities in Springfield, MA to collaborate with leadership, support operational initiatives, and maintain alignment with key stakeholders.

🏥 What You’ll Do
  • Lead and mentor supervisors and managers within the Patient Financial Services team, building a high-performing revenue cycle organization
  • Oversee patient account operations including billing accuracy, collections performance, and regulatory compliance
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that support the financial and operational goals of the health system
  • Monitor revenue cycle performance by analyzing KPIs, identifying trends, and implementing process improvements
  • Partner with executive leadership and operational stakeholders on strategic initiatives and performance improvement efforts
  • Participate in system-wide budget planning and operational forecasting
  • Identify workflow improvements, operational risks, and opportunities to enhance the patient financial experience
  • Develop training and professional development initiatives to strengthen staff capabilities and improve operational performance
✅ Required Qualifications
  • 6–8+ years of healthcare operations experience within the revenue cycle
  • 2–3+ years of leadership experience in Patient Financial Services or Patient Accounts
  • Direct supervisory experience managing teams and operational workflows
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex revenue cycle data and drive measurable improvements
  • Experience improving workflows and standardizing processes in complex healthcare systems
  • Experience participating in annual budget planning and performance improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to lead teams through operational change or transformation
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
