Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years previous experience as a manager, preferably Front Office department, in a hotel with 200+ rooms required.
  • Excellent skills both in writing and verbal communications.
  • Experience creating schedules, interviewing potential candidates, reviewing and creating budgets and forecasts, processing payroll, completing inventories, and coaching and counseling team members required.
  • Ability to operate hotel PMS and accounting systems.
  • Previous Downtown City hotel experience preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time.
  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement, and ability to motivate others.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations.
  • Readily available and approachable for all team members and guests while providing excellent guest service.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that departments achieve or exceed guest's service scores and expectations.
  • Assist Department Managers in preparing team members schedules in accordance with budgets and business forecasts.
  • Inspect rooms regularly with the team to ensure quality standards are being maintained.
  • Ensure the operations team is trained in financial control procedures for cash, payables, inventories, and receivables and that procedures are consistently followed.
  • Respond to guest reviews and inquiries on all channels.
  • Partner with Human Resources for onboarding, performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Work with other departments to ensure operations are running smoothly in tandem with one another.
  • Participate in daily Stand-Up meetings for the leadership team and report out on guest scores, and other metrics.
  • Leading daily team meetings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and annual department-wide budgets and forecast.
  • Oversee all vendor and personnel contracts throughout the hotel.
  • Participate in the creation of annual revenue, expense, and capital budgets.
  • Assist in creating incentives for team members.

The Director of Operations reports to the General Manager and is responsible for helping to direct Department Managers and in supporting thehotel operations, ensuring the overall success of the hotel in all metrics,including employee satisfaction, guest satisfaction, and brand qualitystandards are being met or exceeded. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated,have major brand and City experience, and, most importantly, have a positivesolution-based focus.

The anticipated compensation range forthe position is $90-120k per year. The salary offered to a successful candidatewill depend on several factors, including but not limited to years ofexperience within the job, years of experience within the required industry,education, etc.
