A leading global plastics organization is seeking a Director of Operations for their 24/7 manufacturing facility in the Pittsburgh area. This senior role is responsible for plant performance across manufacturing, safety, and quality while owning P&L results and leading a team of over 150 employees. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of operations leadership experience, preferably in injection molding, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and team development.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.
• Prior plant management experience in a 150+ employee manufacturing environment.
• Experience with P&L ownership.
• Injection molding experience highly preferred.
• Lean manufacturing or TPM exposure preferred.

Director of Operations – Injection Molding

This is the senior operational leader for a 24/7 manufacturing facility within a global plastics organization.

The Director of Operations has full responsibility for plant performance across manufacturing, production, maintenance, warehousing, tooling, safety, facilities, and quality. This role owns site‑level strategy and execution, partnering directly with the COO while leading a 150+ employee operation, with full P&L responsibility and long‑term capacity planning ownership.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead all plant operations including production, maintenance, warehousing, tooling, quality, safety, and facilities.
• Drive manufacturing performance aligned with quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Own P&L results for the site.
• Oversee capital planning, equipment investment, and inventory strategy.
• Establish short‑ and long‑term operational goals including capacity planning and site optimization.
• Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Engineering, Finance, and HR.
• Build and develop the manufacturing leadership team.
• Strengthen operational discipline, reliability, and continuous improvement efforts.

BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS

• 15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.
• Prior plant management experience in a 150+ employee manufacturing environment.
• Experience with P&L ownership.
• Injection molding experience highly preferred.
• Lean manufacturing or TPM exposure preferred.
