Job summary

Protouch Staffing seeks an experienced Director of Operations to provide senior leadership across construction operations and drive growth. Reporting to the President, you will oversee the operational and financial performance of multiple projects, develop project teams, manage client relationships, coordinate resources, and ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive construction experience with strong PM/operational leadership.
  • Experience leading multiple projects and project teams.
  • Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, cost control, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to mentor PMs/Superintendents and develop staff.
  • Experience maintaining owner and client relationships and supporting BD/preconstruction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership across multiple construction projects.
  • Work with PMs and Superintendents to drive successful project execution.
  • Maintain accountability for financial performance, schedule, safety, and quality.
  • Review monthly cost and revenue projections; support revenue forecasting.
  • Oversee manpower and equipment planning across projects.
  • Maintain relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Support projects from preconstruction through completion and mitigate risks.
  • Review and negotiate change orders; manage project risks.
  • Partner with leadership on proposals and preconstruction efforts.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead PMs, Superintendents, and project staff.
  • Support recruiting and performance management for operational teams.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to provide senior leadership across construction operations and help drive the continued growth and performance of the business.

Reporting directly to the President, this senior leadership role will oversee the operational and financial performance of multiple projects, develop project teams, manage client relationships, coordinate resources, and ensure successful project execution.

The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader who understands the full project lifecycle-from preconstruction and planning through field execution and closeout-and has a strong track record of developing Project Managers and Superintendents while maintaining accountability for safety, quality, schedule, and financial results.

Position Description

The Opportunity

The Director of Operations will work closely with executive leadership and project teams to oversee an active project portfolio and support continued business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and oversight across multiple construction projects
  • Work directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to drive successful project execution
  • Maintain accountability for project financial performance, schedule, safety, quality, and staffing
  • Review monthly project cost and revenue projections and support company revenue forecasting
  • Oversee manpower and equipment planning across projects
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, architects, and engineers
  • Support projects from preconstruction through completion and resolve complex operational and contractual issues
  • Review and negotiate change orders while identifying and mitigating project risks
  • Partner with leadership on business development, proposals, and preconstruction efforts
  • Develop, mentor, and lead Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and emerging leaders
  • Support recruiting, performance management, and succession planning for operational teams

Position Requirements

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive construction experience, including significant Project Management and operational leadership responsibility
  • Experience leading multiple projects and project teams
  • Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, cost control, scheduling, change management, and risk management
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and project staff
  • Experience developing and maintaining strong owner and client relationships
  • Experience supporting business development and preconstruction activities
  • Strong negotiation, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of construction technology, including HCSS, Primavera, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered
