The Well is seeking a Director of Operations for a growing independent wealth management firm in the United States. This role leads a large operations team and oversees client service, paraplanner, marketing coordination and data functions, with a focus on turning the service model into scalable workflows.

You will drive staffing, workflows and reporting, run major seasonal campaigns, and shape a CRM/reporting build to support firm scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in RIA/Broker-Dealer operations with 3+ years leading ops or client service teams.
• Served as a DOO at a firm with over $5B AUM.
• Experience leading through managers, not just doing the work yourself.
• Hands-on CRM ownership—built data models and workflow automation.

Compensation: $150,00-$200,000 base + 10% annual performance bonus

We're hiring a Director of Operations on behalf of our client—a growing, independent wealth management and retirement planning firm.

This firm is building out its leadership bench, and this seat is a big part of it. If you've led a large operations team at a firm with over $5 billion AUM and lead other managers—not just done the work yourself—and you know how to turn a growing RIA's service model into workflows that actually run, we want to talk.

You will have a 5 part role:

• 1. LMA - operations organization
• 4. Systems, data & reporting
• 5. Marketing execution & pipeline operations

Why this role?

• Be a leader of leaders - this seat reports directly to the COO and oversees the client service, paraplanner, marketing coordination, and data functions
• Own the client experience engine - build the staffing, workflows, and reporting behind the firm's service model
• Run the firm's biggest seasonal campaigns - Roth conversions, RMDs, and year-end deadlines as coordinated, tracked initiatives
• Shape a CRM and reporting build from the ground up as the firm scales

What you bring:

• 7+ years in RIA / Broker Dealer operations, including 3+ years managing an operations or client service team (MUST)
• Served as a DOO at a firm with over $5B AUM
• Experience leading through managers, not just doing the work yourself
• Hands-on CRM ownership—you've built data models and workflow automation, not just used someone else's setup
• Deep custodial fluency (Schwab strongly preferred): ACATs, money movement, RMDs, NIGO resolution
• A systems-first mindset—you document and automate before you add headcount
• Manage teams at large firms
• Experience leading remote or distributed operations teams
• EOS experience (L10s, scorecards, accountability charts) or a comparable operating framework
