Job summary

Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville, TX is seeking a Nutrition Services Director to plan, develop, direct and control the Dining Services department. You will oversee food service standards, policy, staff, equipment and systems to deliver high-quality meals to patients in a cost-effective manner.

Collaborate with Registered Dietitian, manage budget and staffing, ensure safety and sanitation, and coordinate with care teams to align menus with resident needs and preferences.

Qualifications

• CDM or Certified Food Service Manager certification required or preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English with knowledge of arithmetic and units used in food prep.
• Ability to cook/prepare food preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains standards for purchasing, storing and preparation of food.
• Maintains safety and sanitation procedures to meet government regulations.
• Plans and administers departmental budget.
• Directs staffing schedules and assignments for effective food service.
• Monitors patients' nutritional status with Registered Dietitian.
• Represents Nutrition Services at staff meetings and communicates administrative information.
• Adapts master menu cycle with Registered Dietitian to facility preferences.
• Purchases or requisitions food supplies within budget.
• Supervises receiving and storing of food.
• Maintains diet roster and nourishment list.
• Prepares and audits tray tickets as needed.
• In-services Nutrition Services staff regularly.
• Prepares and submits financial reports as required.
• Coordinates catering as necessary.
• Attends patient care plan meetings.
• Conducts employee evaluations and handles disciplinary action when needed.
