Job summary

MJ Healthcare is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) in Centre County, PA. The DON will lead nursing services, oversee resident care, and drive quality, compliance, and staff development in a facility environment.

Qualified candidates are RNs with current licensure. BSN is preferred. Responsibilities include supervision, care planning, staffing, and coordinating admissions with administration and discharge teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct, evaluate and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.

• Ensure compliance with regulations and supervise scheduling and staffing.
• Hire nursing staff and maintain relationships with hospital discharge coordinators.

Nursing and Management experience required.

Must be an RN graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN is preferred but not required. Must have current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities:

• To Direct, evaluate and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary

• Assess resident care needs and assist in the development of individualized plans of resident care

• Conduct resident care conferences

• Report problems to the Administrator, conduct daily resident rounds and initiate corrective action as necessary

• Conduct staff meetings with all shifts

• Assume responsibility for nursing service compliance to federal, state and local regulations Direct allocation of nursing service equipment and supplies

• Supervision and Scheduling

• Conduct interviews and hire nursing service employees

• Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges

• Establish good public relations with hospital discharge coordinators

• Consistently demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and dependability

• Work cooperatively with facility administration, nursing personnel, ancillary personnel, all facility departments!
