Job summary

Iroquois Memorial Hospital and Resident Home in rural Illinois seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee nursing care and clinical operations at the Resident Home, ensuring resident safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance.

This senior leadership role requires building a skilled nursing team, directing budgets and staffing, collaborating with medical staff and administration, and guiding survey readiness and QAPI initiatives to maintain the highest standards of care.

Qualifications

• Active State of Illinois RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of skilled nursing facility (SNF) regulatory requirements and clinical standards.

Responsibilities

• Nursing Operations: Oversee daily clinical operations, manage nursing budgets, and ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation to meet resident needs.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to State of Illinois and federal long-term care regulations. Lead survey readiness efforts and maintain Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) standards.
• Staff Management: Direct the recruitment, retention, and professional development of the nursing team. Conduct performance reviews and provide mentorship to ensure a high-performing clinical staff.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with medical staff, therapy services, and hospital administration to foster a patient-centered environment and integrated care delivery.
